Azure SQL Database alerts in Fabric Database Hub enter public preview
🛠️ Microsoft has released public-preview alerts for Azure SQL Database in Fabric Database Hub, powered by Fabric Activator. Teams can start with a built-in alert template or convert a database performance chart into a rule that watches multiple resources.
- Alerts can trigger Teams messages, email, Fabric notebooks or Power Automate flows.
- Queries run against performance telemetry, not production databases.
- Fabric capacity is required for Activator rules, even though Database Hub itself is free.
The preview is relevant to partners running SQL modernization, managed database services and Fabric operations. Microsoft says additional database templates and integrations are planned, not yet generally available.
