GitHub Copilot can act on GitHub notifications inside Microsoft Teams
🤖 The updated GitHub app in Microsoft Teams lets teams turn issue and pull-request notifications into GitHub Copilot tasks without leaving a conversation.
When a GitHub notification appears in a channel or chat, a user can reply and @mention GitHub to request investigation, tests, a code change or a draft pull request. Developers still review, test and decide whether to merge the proposed work.
Existing GitHub Notifications users should update the app. Microsoft says the separate legacy GitHub app will be renamed GitHub (deprecated) and retired on November 16, 2026.
