Copilot for legal: legal skills reach general availability
🎓 Copilot’s legal capabilities have moved beyond the earlier Legal Agent release: more than 20 purpose-built legal skills are now generally available.
💡 In Word, they support tasks such as contract drafting and tracked edits; in Cowork, they help with work spanning agreements, messages and files.
💡 Partner-built legal plugins are beginning to roll out, connecting specialist research, document and agreement systems.
👉 Modern Work partners serving legal teams can use these capabilities to frame workflow and integration discussions, while keeping professional review central.
⏳ A separate Word experience for navigating defined terms is planned for preview later in October, so it should not be confused with the skills already available.
