GitHub app in Teams reaches general availability
The GitHub app in Microsoft Teams is generally available, bringing GitHub notifications and Copilot work into one app.
Teams users can investigate issues, request fixes and draft pull requests in the conversation, then inspect plans and file changes through the GitHub canvas.
The release adds multi-repository work, configurable MCP tools, model selection and attribution linking work back to its originating discussion.
Setup requires the GitHub app to be allowed in Teams and resource-specific consent enabled.
GitHub enterprise administrators must enable Copilot cloud agent, cloud sandboxes and CLI billing for the relevant organizations, and assign GitHub Copilot licenses to users.
