Azure SQL Database watcher retires on April 30, 2027
⏳ Database watcher will not reach general availability and will stop collecting data on April 30, 2027. Creating or editing watcher resources will be blocked from November 9, 2026; existing watchers continue operating during the transition.
Microsoft directs users to Database Hub in Fabric. Support for Managed Instance, elastic pools and secondary replicas is planned before retirement.
Historical data stores and alerts are not automatically deleted, and associated resources can continue to incur charges. The replacement monitoring and alerting setup needs validation before existing watchers are retired.
Plan the transition to Database Hub.
