Azure reservation exchange policy update

Partner Center Announcements · 30 Jul 2026

⚠️ From February 1, 2027, Azure reservation exchanges will no longer be available for services covered by savings plans.

💡 Microsoft’s July notice targets partners advising customers with affected compute and database reservations and calls for commitment planning before the policy changes.

👉 Partners should identify impacted reservations, discuss workload stability and flexibility, and compare the appropriate mix of reservations and savings plans.

📌 This announcement concerns exchanges for covered services; it does not say all reservations disappear or that every existing commitment can be cancelled.

👉 Customer-specific decisions should follow the linked policy and current workload requirements.
