Reminder: Check Inventory API retiring September 25, 2026
⏳ Partner Center’s previous Check Inventory API was scheduled to retire on September 25, 2026, with Check Inventory by Resource Type replacing it.
💡 The replacement requires a resourceType parameter so inventory queries can account for the specific Azure resource being requested, while keeping the response contract unchanged.
👉 Partners whose quoting or ordering systems perform automated inventory checks should verify that integrations use the replacement endpoint and supported resource types.
⚠️ The change addresses scaling and availability complexity; continuing to rely on the old API creates an integration dependency that the retirement announcement explicitly asks partners to remove.
Previously
The earlier Check Inventory endpoint did not use the replacement's resourceType requirement.
