Microsoft 365 Education A7 launches with staged portfolio transitions
Microsoft 365 Education A7 is generally available, combining advanced AI, security, governance and device management.
The updated portfolio adds faculty/student choices, a no-cost A0 student option for Windows devices, Microsoft Classroom and expanded faculty capabilities.
Transition timing depends on contract renewal or extension:
- Pricing standardization begins at the first renewal or extension on or after May 1, 2027.
- Most portfolio changes, including Office 365 A1, Student Use Benefit and free Exchange Online for Alumni retirements, apply at the first renewal or extension on or after January 1, 2028.
Existing agreements and entitlements remain until their applicable transition. Partners gain ASPX education insights; EES customer visibility requires tenant-level CPOR or a CSP relationship.
