Azure Migrate previews Dell and NetApp NAS share discovery and assessment
Azure Migrate can now discover and assess NAS shares in public preview, connecting directly to Dell PowerScale/Isilon and NetApp ONTAP clusters.
It inventories SMB, NFS and S3 shares alongside servers, databases and applications in the same migration project.
Per-share assessments compare readiness, configurations and estimated costs for Azure Files, Blob Storage and Azure NetApp Files, including alternative migration paths and business-case views.
Setup requires an updated appliance, explicit NAS discovery sources and cluster-level read-only credentials.
Assessment provides planning and tooling recommendations; data movement uses the appropriate migration service, such as Storage Mover or the Azure NetApp Files migration assistant.
