Microsoft to expand Azure Maia system to multi-gigawatt deployments
⏳ Microsoft is expanding the infrastructure behind its AI services: Azure Maia 200 already runs production Copilot workloads, with GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Foundry support planned by the end of 2026.
⏳ Maia 300 production deployments are scheduled to begin in 2027 as Microsoft scales the family to multi-gigawatt capacity.
🤖 The new system targets long-context reasoning, responsive conversations and sustained agent tasks; Microsoft projects improved throughput and power efficiency.
🤖 For Azure and AI partners, this provides context for the capacity and efficiency roadmap behind Microsoft services.
📌 It does not introduce a separately orderable CSP offer or a new partner incentive.
